Find adventure this Bank Holiday

While we love London here at Stephen James MINI, we also love the chance to escape…

There’s nothing like open roads and your favourite playlist streaming to get you in the adventuring mood. We’ve put together our top escapes near London so you can get your fix this bank holiday weekend.

The New Forest

This is the longest of the drives coming in at just over two hours from London, but it is definitely worth the extra time and the roads will leave you speechless. Not only is the drive down wonderful, but the destination is breath-taking. Winding roads lead you through miles of greenery and wildlife, with wild horses roaming through the forest. If you’re looking for a magical escape for the weekend, this one tops the list!

The Cotswolds

You can get to the Cotswolds from London in just under an hour – depending on where you are, of course! It’s the land of exploring and full of cute and quaint towns, bursting with culture. Picturesque, country roads feel like a million miles away from the capital, perfect for a road trip with your friends. Don’t forget to pack the snacks!

Margate

The last of our top picks but by no means the least! Margate is a seemingly sleepy seaside town, but it is packed with character and things to do. Around two hours from London, a seaside getaway for the bank holiday may be just what you’re after. To get there, you can choose straight up motorway driving and enjoy the roads when you’re there or opt of the more scenic route of A-roads. We think this might be a busy one over the bank holiday so get looking and booking if you’re thinking of staying the night.

As the Summer months roll towards us and the sun stays out a little longer, it’s the perfect time to drive out to one of these destinations. If you have any recommendations on other trips to take around London, let us know!
