Top Ten Things to Do in London This Christmas

The festive season is upon us and, with so much going on, there is nowhere better to get in the Christmas spirit than London. Here are our top ten things to do in the city this December:

1    Get Lost in a Winter Wonderland

Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland is back this year and with an ice rink, a secret forest, markets, a circus and a fairground, you’ll never want to leave!

2    Get Your Skates On

Hyde Park isn’t the only place in London where you can ice skate. Hampton Court Palace, the Tower of London, Skylight and Canary Wharf offer some of the best rinks in the city.

   Shop ‘Til You Drop

London is home to some of the best shopping hotspots in the country, including Oxford Street, Regent Street and Bond Street, as well as plenty of quirky independent stores, so you’ll be able to find gifts for even the fussiest relatives.

4    Spread Some Christmas Cheer Through Song

Join in with traditional Christmas carols at St Pauls Cathedral and the Royal Albert Hall!

5    Admire the Christmas Lights of London

Christmas lights can make anywhere seem magical, and there are some truly beautiful and fun displays around the city. Oxford Street, Carnaby, Covent Garden, Bond Street and Regent Street are all worth a visit.

   Watch a Christmas Show

There are plenty of pantomimes and shows to enjoy at this time of year, from Dick Whittington to A Christmas Carol.

   Visit London Christmas Markets

There are Christmas markets scattered all over London, at Southbank Centre, Greenwich Wintertime Festival, Clapham Common, Battersea Park, Chelsea Physic Garden, Leicester Square and even on London Bridge.

8    Meet Santa!

Take the kids to meet Santa! He’ll be visiting London Zoo, London Wetland Centre, the Royal Albert Hall, the Museum of London and plenty of other locations before his big night!

9    Go to a Christmas Concert

The sound of carol singing and classic Christmas hits is sure to get everyone in the festive spirit!

10    Show Your Support at the Great Christmas Pudding Race

It’s the season of giving and in the name of charity, runners in fancy dress will be lining up in Covent Garden to take part in a festive obstacle course, with foam slaloms and a giant inflatable slide! Whether you’re taking part or just watching, it’s a lot of fun and helps a great cause, Cancer Research UK.

Happy Christmas from everyone at Stephen James!
